The Dinerstein Companies acquired 27 North through San Jose 27 North Class A, LLC, a newly formed acquisition entity. The asset is located at 27 North 6th Street and was acquired from Cityview and Symphony Development, which developed and opened the property in 2016.
The community comprises 119 units and 475 beds in furnished two-, three- and four‑bedroom apartments serving San Jose State University. Amenities include study lounges, roommate matching, a fitness centre, pool and spa.
Strategic context
The acquisition extends Dinerstein's established California student housing presence with a stabilised asset immediately adjacent to a large public university.
San Jose State's long‑term campus plan targets enrolment growth from about 36,000 to 44,000 students by 2045, supporting demand for nearby private accommodation. Adding an operating community also gives Dinerstein immediate income and local scale without development or lease‑up risk.
