By acquiring Moor Lane Halls (493 beds) and Walker Street (175 beds), MCR has expanded Flow Student's portfolio to more than 8,600 beds as it works towards a 10,000‑bed portfolio target. Rather than creating additional capacity, the upcoming refurbishment will focus on upgrading the existing accommodation.
Strategic context
Combined with the earlier purchases of Foundry Court and Trinity Student Village, this acquisition brings MCR's Preston portfolio to 1,530 student beds across four properties.
This localised scale enables Flow Student to coordinate leasing, marketing, and property management efficiently across multiple residences, while refurbishing existing units could unlock higher income potential sooner than developing new developments.
