The university signed a refurbishment and energy‑efficiency contract for Student Hall No. 2 on Zytnia Street. The works cover the building envelope, accessibility improvements and interior refurbishment, including the conversion of shared accommodation units into single rooms. The site was scheduled to be handed over to MAL‑POL by 21 October.

A subsidy of approximately PLN11.4 million from BGK's Fundusz Doplat supports the works, which are expected to take around two years.

Strategic context

MAL‑POL was awarded contracts to improve the energy efficiency of two Siedlce school buildings in November 2025. The university appointment extends the company's local public‑sector refurbishment activity into student accommodation, where improvements to the building's structure and energy efficiency must be coordinated with changes to room layouts and accessibility.

For the university, the programme aims to improve the competitiveness of its existing accommodation while reducing operating costs rather than expanding its portfolio through new acquisitions. Replacing shared accommodation with single rooms should improve the quality of accommodation, while the energy‑efficiency upgrades are intended to reduce the cost of operating the building over its remaining lifespan.
