Vonovia has sold the Schuermann‑Horster‑Weg residence, with ownership due to transfer on 31 December 2026. Seezeit leases the property for student accommodation. Its lease expires on 30 September 2027, and an extension has not been agreed.
Strategic context
Seezeit has leased the residence since 1997, and the property entered Vonovia's portfolio in 2015. The sale therefore affects a long‑established student‑housing arrangement rather than a newly created residence. Its investment significance lies in the approaching expiry of the existing lease: property ownership can change while thestudent accommodation provider's right to use the rooms remains time‑limited.
The next owner's decision on the lease will determine whether the building continues to contribute to Seezeit's accommodation supply after September 2027. Until the lease situation is resolved, the transaction should be understood as a change of ownership with an important question about the property's continued use as student accommodation remaining unresolved.
