Codi buys Swansea student block for £8.7 million for housing conversion
6 October 2026 | Asset acquisition | UK | 80 units | Operational
The former Boutique Student Living building will be repurposed for people facing housing and homelessness pressures, rather than continue as student accommodation.
Key details
Asset type | Operational |
Location | Swansea, UK |
Capacity | 80 units |
Buyer | Codi Group |
Seller | Urban Centric |
Value | £8.7 million |
On 7 October, Urban Centric announced the completed disposal of the property on St Helen's Road, which was originally developed as an 80‑unit student residence. Having already secured council approval in January to convert the building into supported housing, Codi expects a six‑month turnaround before the new homes become available
Strategic context
The planned conversion will remove an existing residence from Swansea's student‑housing stock while bringing the building into use for supported housing. Housing providers can offer an alternative exit route for PBSA owners where buildings can be adapted to meet local housing needs, broadening the buyer pool beyond student‑housing investors.
