Milan might be best known for business and fashion, but it is by far the largest Italian student destination. With approximately 215,000 students in the city, market saturation stands at 5.3%. Lacking 42,000 beds, Milan provides the biggest opportunity for investment in the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) market in Italy.
Investments are picking up pace, with more capital being deployed in the market. BONARD anticipates approximately 6,300 new beds by private operators will be market-ready by the 2025/2026 academic year.
