Spain, Seville: A 500-room student residence and hotel opens in Seville

Merkel Capital, with a portfolio of more than 4,000 beds in Spain, has announced the opening in July of a new 500-room student residence in Seville, which will be complemented by hotel services for residents visiting or working in the city.
Canada, Oak Bay: Oak Bay council hears plans for 423-bed student housing building at Camosun College

Planning for a massive 423-bed student housing building on Camosun College’s Lansdowne campus continues, with Oak Bay councillors voicing only a few concerns at a council meeting Monday. The development, first announced in 2024, will see 423 student beds — including single, studio and multi-room units — with nearly $152 million in funding coming from the provincial government. The building, expected to open for students in fall 2027, will be the first ever student housing facility built on a Camosun College campus.
UK, Birmingham: Orion Land reveals plans for Eagle Point PBSA

Property development company Orion Land has revealed plans for Eagle Point – a new purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development that will deliver over 260 homes in Birmingham city centre. The PBSA scheme aims to transform a site on Swallow Street into a high-quality community for students, offering 263 PBSA rooms. These include a mix of 169 cluster rooms, 80 studios and 14 wheelchair-accessible studios.
UK, Glasgow: New Glasgow student scheme begins to take shape

DRONE footage has captured the construction progress being made in the build of new student accommodation at 292-298 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2026. Developer Artisan Real Estate and student management company Homes for Students are partnering with contractor GRAHAM on the £70 million scheme. The completed development, to be known as St Vincent Studios, will provide 321 self-contained studio apartments together with a range of facilities and amenities over 16 floors.

The urban landscape of Villeneuve d'Ascq is preparing to welcome a major real estate project with Sextant, a new student residence developed by Nacarat, a subsidiary of the Tisserin Group. UK: HUB gets green light for office-to-residential conversion scheme in the City

City of London has approved plans for an office-to-residential conversion scheme which would deliver 277 co-living homes in Aldgate. Developed by HUB and Bridges Fund Management, the Assemblies scheme at 150 Minories, which was approved under delegated powers, will also provide shared amenity spaces on the ground floor which will be accessible to residents and the wider public.
UK: Wates mobilises as £200 MLN Middlesbrough scheme approved

Wates has been named lead contractor for the £200 MLN Gresham Street development being brought forward by developers iMpeC and Buccleuch Property. The transformational project sits as part of the wider Middlesbrough masterplan, with the first phase including more than 240 build-to-rent (BTR) flats and residential accommodation for more than 450 students.
