UK, Nottingham: Plans for 247-bed student scheme given green light

Plans for a major student accommodation scheme in Nottingham city centre have been given the green light by the council’s planning committee. PMI Developments and Harcourt Land and Development have been given the go-ahead to build a three-, five-, six- and nine-storey scheme on the site of a warehouse on Glasshouse Street in the Eastside area of Nottingham, behind the Victoria Shopping Centre.

UK, Glasgow: 13-storey student accommodation block approved for Osborne Street car park in city centre

A bid to build student flats on city centre land which had been earmarked for a hotel has been approved by Glasgow’s planning application committee. Real estate firm Dominus plans to create 174 studios in a 13-storey block on a site at the corner of Osborne Street and Old Wynd.

UK: United Trust Bank (UTB) has provided a £27.8 MLN facility for the development of a £40 MLN build-to-rent (BTR) scheme in Canary Wharf

The development is being undertaken by Lotus Living, a BTR developer that has worked extensively on such schemes across Greater London and the Home Counties. This £27.8 MLN facility will support the acquisition of the freehold of the building, conversion and construction costs, S106 and CIL liabilities, professional fees, interest and a four-month VAT bridge. Known as Bellerive House, this development will see Lotus Living convert a redundant office building into 50 rental apartments. These will range from studios to two-bedrooms, with nine new rooftop airspace duplex apartments.
