Canada, Vancouver: Danish firm designs UBC's $560-million, 1,500-bed student housing complex

For its largest-ever student housing complex project in decades, the University of British Columbia (UBC) has enlisted a prominent international architectural firm from Denmark to lead the design work. The first phase of the redevelopment of John’s College at the UBC Vancouver campus is designed by Copenhagen-based 3XN, which has designed notable projects such as the Museum of Liverpool, new International Olympic Committee headquarters in Laussane, Quay Quarter Tower in Sydney, and the United Nations City and National Aquarium Denmark in Copenhagen.
UK, Glasgow: Detailed plans submitted for 620-bed student development at Charing Cross

A £250 million plan to transform Glasgow’s Charing Cross has moved forward with the submission of detailed plans for the first phase. Following outline planning consent being granted at the end of last year, CxG Glasgow Limited has brought forward an application for a 620-bed student accommodation development on the south side of Bath Street.
UK, Birmingham: McAleer & Rushe lands £90 million Birmingham student housing job

Developer Greystar has appointed McAleer & Rushe to deliver an £90 million purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Birmingham. The Triangle scheme, located on a former Sainsbury’s supermarket site in Selly Oak, will provide 836 student bedrooms across two buildings.
