In 2025 and 2026, 574 student housing units will be added, primarily in the new Sluisbuurt neighborhood in the East district and in the so-called station area of Sloterdijk. Construction will then begin on more than a thousand new homes. These will primarily involve projects from private investors in Amsterdam Zuidoost: Hettenheuvelweg (150 homes), Karspeldreef (250 homes), and Arena Poort (455 homes). Student housing provider Duwo has two projects in preparation for 2026: 100 homes on Zeeburgerpad in East and another 127 homes in the Zuidas district.
