Spain, Fuenlabrada: Nexum retail park will open on November 8

The Nexum Retail Park mixed space, promoted by Equilis in the Madrid municipality of Fuenlabrada, will celebrate its inauguration next Wednesday, November 8. The project has 48,000 square meters of land, of which 22,000 square meters will be used for the commercial park, 17,000 square meters for a student residence with 600 rooms and 4,000 square meters for the construction of a hotel.

UK, Edinburgh and London: Blackstone Buys London, Edinburgh Student Dorms for £370 Million

Blackstone Inc.’s IQ Student Accommodation business has bought properties in London and Edinburgh as the private equity firm continues to bet on the shortage of purpose-built housing in the UK’s top university cities. The landlord has acquired Vega, an 841-bed property in London’s Vauxhall district and The Mont, a 324-bed property in central Edinburgh, according to a company statement Wednesday. The combined value of the acquisitions, which were purchased from Downing Students, is about £370 million ($449 million), people with knowledge of the terms said, asking not to be identified as the details were not public.

Germany, Dresden: Municipal housing: Dresden buys 1,213 apartments from Vonovia

Mayor Dirk Hilbert and Rolf Buch, CEO of Vonovia SE, jointly announced in Dresden that the city is purchasing 1,213 apartments from Vonovia. The new owner will be the municipal housing company WiD Wohnen in Dresden GmbH & Co. KG.

The initiative is included in the Málaga Housing and Land Plan approved a few months ago, which sets out the need to support the construction of 8,900 homes by 2027.
