Castlehaven Finance provided a development debt facility to McHugh Property Holdings for a PBSA scheme on Coolough Road in Galway. The consented project comprises 84 apartments with 586 bedspaces across seven blocks. Plans also include communal amenities, a cafe, retail space, cycle parking and public‑realm improvements.
EY‑Parthenon, RDJ, KSN and Knight Frank advised on the transaction.
Strategic context
The facility gives McHugh dedicated capital to advance a sizeable consented scheme in a market where student demand continues to outpace purpose‑built supply.
For Castlehaven, the transaction extends its development‑lending franchise into institutional‑scale PBSA and adds exposure to a university city with strong accommodation fundamentals.
