The financing covers two properties providing 962 student beds in Starkville, home to Mississippi State University. JLL’s Orange County Capital Markets team arranged the facility and announced its completion in the beginning of October.
Strategic context
The loan supports a transfer of existing student housing, rather than the development of additional beds in the university market. Buying existing accommodation avoids the risks of new development, returns will instead depend on the properties’ occupancy, rental performance and financing costs.
