Germany, Cologne: The Flag is converting customs buildings into student apartments

The Flag has acquired the office and administration building at Neusser Straße 159 in Cologne. The property previously used by the General Customs Directorate is empty and is to be converted into an apartment building for students and young professionals. Around 125 apartments are planned. The seven-story building offers an above-ground gross floor area of ​​5,485 m² and the property is 1,186 m² in size. The seller is Nestlé Pensionskasse Vermögensgesellschaft & Co OHG, and the deal was brokered by Aengevelt on behalf of the seller.

UK, Leeds: BlackRock and Manner acquire The Store House PBSA

Harris Associates and Savills announce prime purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) project - The Store House - in Leeds is being acquired by BlackRock and Manner. Situated on the illustrious Briggate, the scheme will deliver 369 student bed spaces and the development encompasses 2,417 sqm of prime-positioned flexible retail space across the ground (1,251 sqm) and basement levels (1,166 sqm), currently being marketed by Jackson & Criss and Forge Commercial Property. The project is expected to complete in time for the 2025/6 academic year.

The Maastricht School of Management Foundation (MSM) sells (student) complex, The Ed, at the Endepolsdomein in Maastricht to Zinc Real Estate. The complex covers approximately 8,600 m2 and consists of a basement, ground floor and 7 floors. Within these layers there are 147 apartments, consisting of 133 independent apartments, ranging between 23m2 and 50m2, and 14 independent apartments with an area between 71m2 and 76m2.

Germany, Erlangen: S&P is developing mixed use for PSD Bank

PSD Bank Nuremberg has commissioned S&P as a service developer for a mixed-use development in Erlangen, with a total gross floor area of 13,400 m² planned. The space is divided into 4,911 m² of privately financed housing, 3,249 m² of subsidized housing, 4,481 m² of commercial space and 719 m² of business apartments.

Ireland, Dublin: Quintain To Press Ahead With BTR, Retail And Commercial Plans At Cherrywood

Quintain Ireland has secured planning permission for what it has dubbed Cherrywood’s first village centre. The €65M mixed-use scheme will consist of 148 build-to-rent apartments, plus additional retail and commercial units. Construction is set to start next year and be completed by late 2026.
