UK, London: Southwark residential development to create homes, jobs and new public spaces

The London Borough of Southwark has approved plans for a mixed-tenure residential scheme. Designed by tp bennett for client Joseph Homes, the scheme at Sylvan Grove will deliver a mix of Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) and affordable housing across two adjoined buildings along with 1991 sqm of employment space and a new square. The scheme sits to the north of a 7.7-acre master plan and is one of a number of buildings being developed in the Old Kent Road Opportunity area, fulfilling a London-wide need for student housing. The 34-storey tower comprises 688 student bedrooms as a mix of studio apartments and clusters of three to eight bedroom apartments.

Spain, Madrid: RESA will open a student residence for the 2024-2025 academic year in Chamartín

The operator, which changed its CEO last September, expects that the facility will be ready for the 2024-2025 academic year and, under the name of RESA Chamartín, it will have 320 beds and will have starting prices of between €800 and €900 a month. With this residence there are now 41 that make up the RESA network, with a presence in 21 Spanish cities and with an offer of more than 11,300 accommodation places.

UK, Bournemouth: Peveril Securities and MDM secure planning for Oxford Gardens BTR

Peveril Securities and MDM have obtained resolution to grant planning permission from Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, to redevelop Holland House in Bournemouth. The new proposals will see the delivery of 487 new Build to Rent homes.

CBRE Investment Management has delivered 333 rental apartments in the Parkhaven district in Utrecht. The homes are spread over 12 residential buildings.

Germany, Lippstadt: Cureus builds retirement home in Lippstadt

Cureus is building a retirement home with 88 inpatient and short-term care places at Zum Amt 2 in Lippstadt, North Rhine-Westphalia. On the 4,500 m² plot directly at the foot of the old Lipperode castle complex, a three-storey building with approx. 5,400 m² GFA is being built. The new building, for which Cureus is also the general contractor, is scheduled for completion in spring 2025. It will be operated by Curavie Senior Residences.

Sweden, Skoghall: Sold for 16 million - renovate for 118 million

Hammarö Estate is selling parts of Gunnarskärsgården to the municipality for SEK 16 million. After a SEK 118 million renovation, the former nursing home could be used for the operation of LSS, accommodation for seniors and a fixed point for home service.
