The acquired building stands opposite the British Museum in Bloomsbury. CBRE advised the seller, while Southern Housing supported students until the end of their tenancies and arranged the relocation of assured tenants.
Strategic context
Southern Housing was created through the merger of Optivo and Southern Housing Group in December 2022. It says the disposal will simplify operations and support investment in existing residents' homes and the development of new housing. The transaction frees up capital from a central London student residence to support its core affordable‑housing programme.
