FU.Life and GDI sign framework for 3,000 student apartments
23 June 2026 | JV | Germany | 3,000 beds | Development
FU.Life Group and GDI German Development Investors signed a strategic framework agreement to develop more than 3,000 student apartments across Germany.
Key details
Asset type | Development |
Location | multiple cities, Germany |
Capacity | 3,000 beds |
Party 1 | FU.Life Group |
Party 2 | GDI |
Initial development features 541 units, including 158 units in Düsseldorf, 131 units in Cologne, more than 250 units across Stuttgart and Münster, with an additional project in Essen currently being advanced.
Most projects are expected to use modular construction and the German KfW-40 energy-efficiency standard.
Strategic context
The framework gives FU.Life a route to national scale and gives GDI a dedicated student-housing partner for a multi-city pipeline. If delivered, the programme would add institutional-quality supply in a German market where shortage is structural and city-specific.
